Little Finds from All Over

I've been around the city, and online to have found some really cute and treasure-able pieces that have been conversation starters :D And sharing some of them:

My PLUTO shirt... this tshirt is a bonus from my renewal of Mental Floss Magazine Subscription [http://mentalfloss.com/]. Probably the nerdiest shirt I'll wear. But it's comfy and have garnered some ooooohhhhsss from random graphic design students I've sat with in the computer common hall...

My James Anthony collection. I've bought one every month when I have the money set aside (cuz they cost about a week's worth of starbucks). Although it's not wearable yet because of the frigid weather, I'm excited for summer!!! These are amazing printed shirts by etsy seller, James Anthony [http://www.etsy.com/shop/JamesAnthony]

And my FAVORITE James Anthony Shirt!!!

My vintage top from C'est La Vie, the hippest 2nd hand/vintage store I've been to. Although it's a little big, I've worn it with like a spag inside and it still looks cute. I loved it for the detail... cost: $18.

I've been for a while, fascinated by rings. I cannot find any that I liked in Manila that had that.... vintage feel. When I moved to Vancouver, I am so excited to find out that the locale are really into the whole vintage antique hooplah. So the city is a treasure trove for little antiques from the turn of the century up to the fairly recent. I love to look at the curiosities and often fall in love with ring pieces that I can get between 15-25 dollars. I visit ONE particular store called Salmagundi in Gastown once a month and these are some of my finds:

SALMAGUNDI

Sterling Silver, pearl rose...
1960's

Sterling Silver, ornate ring... 1960's

Sterling Silver, panther with stone... 1940's

Sterling Silver, twisted spoon ring... 1950's

And the best, Sterling Silver, Poison pill ring, 1920's. I love this ring, because it is kinda macabre but also a fascinating idea/story that women can carry around a "death" pill around in case of "emergency".

My Billy Blue Bayer creations. Billy Bayer [http://www.etsy.com/shop/billyblue22] is a New York based jewellry designer who is just the MOST AWESOME!!! Not only is his creations one of a kind super hot, but he's also super nice. The one of the left is similar to what Bellatrix leStrange (Harry Potter, Helena Bonham Carter) was wearing.

My Queen Elizabeth II 1953 Coronation tin can. I believe this used to house "sweets"... so British! Hahaha although you can't really tell, this has an amazing green color. It'll sit nicely in my room!!

And to top this all off... the best hotdog in town... GRANVILLE ISLAND market.... shit... now am hungry.....
